Calleja/DiDonato/Hampson concert at the ROH!!!
Below an email from the ROH which is pretty self explanatory!!
However this means that there will be the opportunity to hear Joseph in concert alongside DiDonato and Hampson.
The concert will take place at the ROH on Wednesday 24 June!!
--------------------------------------------------------
I am very sorry to be sending you yet another email regarding our concert this Wednesday, 24 June. It seems only yesterday that I wrote to tell you about Rolando Villazón's unavoidable withdrawal due to a serious throat condition and of the wonderful Dmitri Hvorostovsky stepping into the breach. Unfortunately Dmitri Hvorostovsky is now also under doctors' orders to completely rest his voice and it is with great regret that he has had to cancel all his current engagements. We are, of course, very disappointed not to be hearing Dmitri and hope he will soon be fully recovered.
We have therefore turned to some of the wonderful singers that we have with us here at the moment and I am very pleased to be able to tell you that the dazzling American mezzo Joyce DiDonato (Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia), and the young and charismatic Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja and the celebrated American baritone Thomas Hampson, both appearing in La traviata - have agreed to join Antonio Pappano for what we anticipate to be a very exciting evening. Also participating will be the Concert Master of the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, violinist Vasko Vassilev.

La Traviata on the Big Screen
As you all know Joseph will be returning to ROH in June/July to sing the role of Alfredo opposite Rene Fleming.
The performance on 30 June 2009 will be broadcast into cinemas all over the UK, Germany, Holland, Austria and possibly more countries.
ROH has not yet confirmed the full cinema list, but the following list (showing Carmen on 29 March) is probably as good a guide. I shall of course post the confirmed list(s) as soon as ROH confirm - probably early April.
It is strongly recommended you check with local cinemas from the above list - some are already advertising La Traviata and tickets could be on sale or going on sale soon.
Tickets for La Traviata at the ROH, London goes on sale from 28 April 2009 (Friends of ROH from 25 March 2009) via telephone and Internet from 10am.
Good Luck!
