Joseph Calleja will perform Verdi's Requiem at two performances to celebrate the Danish National Radiochoir's 75th Anniversary.
The line up of soloist is one of world names; apart from Joseph, Barbara Frittoili, Daniela Barcellona and Ferruccio Furlantto completing this amazing line up will be conductor Gianandrea Noseda.
The concerts will take place in the concert hall at the Broadcast Center in central Copenhagen, on Thursday 1st November and Saturday 3rd November - both concerts are totally sold out.
The concert on Thursday is part of the Danish Radio's "Thursday Concerts" series and will be broadcast live on the radio and via the internet.
The concert on Thursday 1st November will start at 8pm (20.00) and for those whishing to listen to the concert this is how to find the live feed:
then look for the "Lyt til P2" on the right-hand side (or the 3rd column). Just under this heading you will see a loudspeaker sign and the words "P2 lige nu" (P2 live now). Click on this link and a seperate window will open, with a live feed to the current programme.
On Thursday prior to the concert there will be a Jazz programme from 7pm - 7.55pm ~(19.00 - 19.55). At 7.55pm (19.55) there will be a 5 minute introduction to the concert and at 8pm the concert will start. There will be one interval in which they will interview members from the Choir. The concert is due to finish at 10.10pm (22.10).
This concert will be repeated on Sunday 4th November at the same radio station at 10am (10.00) and on 27th December at 8pm (20.00).
I do advise anyone logging in to the live streaming to do so in plenty of time - this is a long awaited concert with big names who all have good followings in Scandinavia and beyond and therefore it is expected to have a higher that usual number of people wanting to listen via the internet.
Happy Listning!
